Logitech Harmony One Remote Rocks!
Posted by: in Reviews, tags: Logitech Harmony One Remote, TivoHDLast week I decided to take the leap to buy a new remote control for all of my home audio/video devices. After much searching and researching and shopping I bought a Logitech Harmony One Remote from Best Buy for around $200. This is a Good Gadget! It feels very comfortable in the hand and was pretty simple so set up using the Logitech software. The gloss black finish is pleasing, but can show fingerprints. Fortunately Logitech included a cloth to wipe the remote off.
I had concerns that the Harmony One would not recognize my Olevia 537H LCD television and I had a brief scare when Olevia didn’t appear in the brand pop up in the set up software until I remembered it was made by Syntax-Brillian which was in the menu. Yay!
At this point I have only programmed it for a couple of activities. Watching TV and Playing Xbox. Both automated sequences run beautifully with no problems. The TV and Onkyo Receiver both come on with the correct programmed input settings.
It also runs the TIVO HD unit with flying colors. I have only had that unit since before the Olympic games and i will be blogging about it soon, but the TIVO HD is a Good Gadget as well.
Although the Harmony One seems a little pricey for a remote, if you have a lot of devices and several separate remotes you will love having this to replace them.
